With its take on the cult-classic, chainsaw distortion pedal — the EHX Hell Melter takes high-gain to new extremes! The Hell Melter features expanded controls and tonal capabilities, allowing the already "in-your-face" sound of the original pedal to broaden by switching to more open clipping options and boosting the internal voltage for increased headroom, less compression, and more attack.

Based On A Black & Orange Behemoth!

Originally designed as the ultimate in high-gain tone, this world-famous distortion circuit is known for the death metal sounds of Sweden's Entombed and the shoegaze wash of My Bloody Valentine. It's even found a home in the rig of David Gilmour!

All The Control You'll Ever Need

The EHX Hell Melter's expanded control set includes Gain and Level knobs, and a powerful active EQ with parametric mids for improved versatility. The Dry level control allows for blending your input signal for improved low-end when used with a bass, or even blending in other distorted tones!

The Boost footswitch engages an input gain boost and a volume boost which is internally adjustable. The Normal/Burn switch toggles between the classic chainsaw sound and the more open clipping option.

Electro Harmonix

In the current JustPedals catalogue, Electro Harmonix is represented by Fuzz Pedals, Overdrive Pedals and Octave Pedals. Current listings include Q-Tron+, Nano Clone and V256 Vocoder. That makes the range relevant to players looking for drive, gain and clipping, plus time-based effects and ambience. Check each model for its exact circuit or processing platform, controls, power requirements and connections, particularly where the catalogue includes both pedals and supporting gear.

Category

Distortion Pedals

Distortion pedals use stronger or more deliberate clipping than a typical overdrive, adding harmonics, compression and sustain. Some are voiced for amp-like crunch, others for high-gain rhythm or a deliberately abrasive texture. Gain, tone, presence, resonance and output controls determine how the pedal interacts with the amplifier and pickups; a blend or noise gate can preserve clarity in heavier settings. Placement changes the result, so check whether the design is intended to push an amp, run into a clean platform or feed a direct cabinet simulation.

Bass

Bass products are designed or voiced to retain low-frequency information and usable headroom with bass guitar or other low-register sources. Controls may centre on clean blend, low-end EQ, compression, crossover points or drive character. A guitar pedal can sometimes work well on bass, but it may remove the fundamental or compress the transient. Check the frequency response, input impedance, output level and dry-signal path with the intended tuning and amplifier.
