Description

A hybrid of digital and analogue circuitry ensure EarthQuaker Devices’ Sea Machine chorus is a unique beast.

If extreme warbles and seasick shimmers are what you’re after, this is the pedal to provide them.

Tone options the size of an ocean

Six control knobs provide extreme versatility, and a slightly extended digital delay line really lets it stand out among pedals of similar ilk.

Rate and Depth controls set the speed and delay of the signal, while shape defines the strength of the waves. Dimension adds a new perspective by adding a subtle reverb increasing to a big echo.

Animate and intensity are the real pedal definers. A low setting on animate represents a more traditional chorus with a tighter shift while rolling it up more wild swells begin to emerge. Intensity blends modulated with dry signals and fill the sound with the presence of the Sea Machine.

Plays well with others

The Sea Machine was built to work alongside fuzz and overdrive pedals and won’t break up or get muddy when combined with gain. A transparent buffer leaves the analogue signal unaltered.

Practical and quiet

With true bypass and silent relay-based switching, EarthQuaker Devices guarantee clean use. Top-mounted jacks also mean the Sea Machine can tuck nicely into any pedalboard without cluttered cables.

Chorus

A chorus pedal thickens and widens your tone by subtly duplicating your signal and shifting it slightly out of tune and time. The result is movement — shimmering cleans, liquid arpeggios, and that unmistakable 80s swirl that makes single notes feel fuller and chords sound expansive. From gentle sparkle to deep, watery modulation, chorus adds dimension without overwhelming your core sound.

Use it to bring life to clean passages, soften driven tones, or create spacious textures that sit beautifully in a band mix. Whether you’re after subtle depth or bold, warbling character, a chorus pedal is a simple way to make your guitar sound bigger, richer, and more immersive.
