Here's what Audio Kitchen says about 'The Big Trees':

The Big Trees (TBTs) is an all valve, Class A amp which doubles as an incredibly versatile preamp, perfectly at home live and in the studio.

The 2.5W amp, built around ECC82 and ECC83 pre-amp and single EL84 output valves, generates harmonic-rich tone, sculpted by its Baxandall-based EQ, and ‘EL84 headroom control’. The Line output (incorporating a valve line driver stage) is either post power- amp stage, or discreet all-valve clean stage for empyreal DI tone.

We hand build TBTs at our workshop in West London with all the care and attention Audio Kitchen have become renowned for. Envisaged as a recording amp which could be taken on tour, TBTs has proven itself a creative inspiration in the studio. Its ever-expanding list of tasks includes re-amping/ guitar front end into a DAW/ clean gain/ DI/ line driver/ hardware insert on all manner of sources from synths to drums, Wurlitzer to vocals, and even as a twin attack over entire mixes.

The Big Trees is something we are thoroughly proud to put the Audio Kitchen name to, and we are delighted to see that it has already won the hearts of acclaimed producers, engineers and guitarists around the planet.

Amp — An amp pedal, often referred to as an amp simulator pedal or amp modeling pedal, is a type of effects pedal designed to emulate the sound and characteristics of various guitar amplifiers. By using digital or analog processing, these pedals replicate the tonal qualities, gain stages, and tonal response of different types of amplifiers, such as vintage tube amps, high-gain modern amps, or classic solid-state models. Amp pedals are typically used to shape a guitarist’s tone without needing to rely on multiple physical amplifiers. They offer a range of preset or adjustable sounds that mimic the effects of different amp types, including their distinctive overdrive, distortion, and EQ settings. Some amp pedals also include additional features like cabinet simulations, which mimic the sound of different speaker cabinets, and built-in effects like reverb and delay. This makes them a versatile tool for achieving a variety of tones and sounds, whether in a practice setting, recording studio, or live performance, providing convenience and flexibility in a compact form..
