The WEM CCB-1 is a recreation of the preamp section of the famous WEM Copicat tape echo unit.

The Watkins Copicat holds an undeniable place in rock history. One of the first tape delay units that was commercially available, it shaped the sound of the ’60s and ’70s thanks to innovative artists like Robert Fripp, Rory Gallagher, and Phil Manzanera.

These British made tape echos were a popular alternative to rarer American models and can be heard across many legendary studio and live recordings from the sixties and seventies – the CCB-1 gives you access to the boost and tone-shaping capabilities of the Copicat preamp in a modern, convenient format.

Its legacy continued with modern players like Jeff Tweedy and John Dwyer who sought its singular sound.

Boost Pedals

Boost pedals increase your signal level, helping solos stand out, pushing an amplifier harder or adding extra presence to your tone. Some boosts are clean and transparent, while others add colour, midrange, grit or brightness depending on the circuit design.

A boost pedal can be used before overdrive to add saturation, after drive pedals for a volume lift, or at the start of the chain to strengthen the guitar signal. It is one of the simplest but most useful pedals for live players and tone-shapers alike.

Preamp & Amp Sim Pedals,

Amp and cab simulator pedals recreate the sound and response of guitar amplifiers, speaker cabinets and microphones in a compact pedal format. They are useful for recording direct, practising silently, running straight into a PA, or building a pedalboard that does not rely on a traditional amp.

Many amp and cab sims include different amplifier voices, impulse responses, EQ controls and headphone outputs. They are a strong choice for modern guitarists who need consistent tone at home, in the studio and on stage without carrying heavy amplifiers and speaker cabinets.
