A tour de force of a distortion pedal! The Animals Pedals Tioga Road Cycling Distortion rolls in on classic high-gain inspired by the original 1970s stompboxes that defined the sizzly sound. Designed in collaboration with the renowned USA-based designers Wren and Cuff, the TRCD handles heavy tones with aplomb As with all Animals Pedals the TRCD features incredibly cute artwork – a friendly bear making their way up a hill on a bike. A colourful addition both in style and sound to any guitar setup. Three distortion voicings The TRCD harnesses the ’70s and ’80s famously creamy and velvety tones, possessing loads of character and harmonic charm. It goes beyond this era too across three core settings: symmetrical and asymmetrical clipping, and clipping bypass to adjust the strength of the distortion. It ranges from light crunch all the way up to a famously fuzzy thickness with an emphasis on rich low mids and enhanced frequency response. The Tioga Road Cycling circuit has also undergone some tweaks to fine-tune the sound and expand its use with a wider variety of guitars and amplifiers. With the expert input of the Wren and Cuff team, the TRCD offers a satisfyingly great sound that will find a home on any pedalboard. New pedal layout The new stompbox design places the footswitch to the front right side for ease of use and it is easy to change the 9v battery inside, placing the brilliant artwork front and centre.Key Features Classic popular distortion sounds from the late 1970s and ’80s Designed with the brilliant team at Wren and Cuff Three distortion settings: asymmetrical, clipping bypass and symmetrical Cute cycling bear artwork Easy setup for any guitar pedalboard, powered with 9v SpecificationsControls VOLUME: Adjusts the volume. In the current JustPedals catalogue, Animals Pedal is represented by Fuzz Pedals, Overdrive Pedals and Distortion Pedals. Current listings include s Rover Fuzz, s Rust Rod Fuzz and s Major Overdrive. That makes the range relevant to players looking for drive, gain and clipping, plus time-based effects and ambience. Check each model for its exact circuit or processing platform, controls, power requirements and connections, particularly where the catalogue includes both pedals and supporting gear.

Distortion Pedals

Distortion clips the waveform more firmly than overdrive, generating dense upper harmonics, longer sustain and a more compressed response. Circuit topology and filtering decide whether the sound is tight and focused, broad and aggressive, smooth or deliberately abrasive. Gain sets the amount of clipping, while pre- and post-distortion tone controls strongly influence low-end definition, midrange presence and high-frequency texture.

Battery Powered

Can operate from an internal replaceable battery, usually with different available current and running time from an external supply. Battery chemistry, access and automatic disconnection through the input socket affect practical runtime and storage. High-current digital processing generally shortens battery life more sharply than a simple analogue circuit.
