Jim Dunlop claim this to be the biggest selling guitar pedal of all time, with over 1,000,000 units sold since it was first introduced! I know that has sold a few – thats for sure! The Jim Dunlop Cry Baby Wah is certainly a classic sounding pedal & great value too. The pedal is well built & will stand up to years of abuse, although we highly recommend spraying some switch cleaner into the pot every 6 months or so, to stop the pot becoming dirty & crackly. If you're a big wah fan then check out the modifications that Michael Fuller has made to the wah pedal with his Fulltone Clyde Standard Wah & Fulltone Clyde Deluxe Wah – search for "Fulltone" in the search box at the top of this page.

Here's what Jim Dunlop say about the Orignal Crybaby Wah Pedal

If it aint broke, dont fix it. The Crybaby Wah Wah has stood the test of time and has served generations of guitarists of every style. The sound is unmistakable, and frankly, has never been duplicated. There is but one control, the pedal itself – that is all you need to add this classic sound to your own. Mash the pedal down and the effect kicks in. Mash it again and you have engaged the bypass and your pure signal passes through. Here is a secret of the pros: turn the effect on and find that sweet spot about half way down the travel of the pedal. Leave it right there, and turn up the crunch on your amp. Its a sound you have heard and tried to get, but just couldn't get quite right. Its heavy-duty construction means you will wear out pairs of shoes before you wear the Crybaby out. There is a saying that they don't make them like they used to, which is disproved here, because they are still making the Crybaby like they used to.

When people talk about wah pedals, they're talking about the Crybaby. This is the original?the one that created some of the most timeless sounds in rock. Relied on by Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, David Gilmour, and many other greats.

Wah Pedals

Wah pedals use a foot-controlled filter to sweep through frequencies, creating the vocal-like sound heard in funk, rock, soul, metal and psychedelic guitar playing. They can be used rhythmically, expressively or as a fixed tone-shaping filter.

A wah pedal gives the player direct physical control over the effect, making it feel highly responsive and personal. It can make lead lines sing, rhythm parts talk and heavy riffs cut through with extra attitude.

Wah

Wah pedals and related effects are commonly used by guitarists looking to shape their tone in a more focused and creative way. Different designs offer their own response, feel and tonal character depending on the style of music and the type of amplifier or guitar being used.

Many players build pedalboards gradually over time, combining different effects and utilities to create a setup that suits their own sound and workflow. Wah related gear can play an important role in both live performance and studio recording.
