The Trident by NUX is a powerful multi-effects, designed for the musician in need of a portable, reliable, and rock-solid all-in-one guitar rig.

Building off the success of the hugely popular “Cerberus”, the Trident is packed with an improved system, updated hardware, and includes a huge array of additional features. The NME5 is a very versatile rig that can replace your entire pedal board and amplifier, and is small enough to fit in your backpack or carry-on luggage.

With a massive 96 preset slots, a tuner, all your effects, an additional boost and a 60 second phrase looper all controlled by the 10 footswitches, this intuitive interface is surprisingly easy to navigate on-the-fly.

There's a 1/4" jack input with stereo outputs for any stereo effects that you may run like chorus and delay as well as an Aux input to play along with smartphones and music players. And if you want to play silently, then you can take advantage of the headphone output.

Key Features

  • Simple to use Interface for effect creation – The Trident features a variety of inbuilt effects, with 10 independently moveable signal blocks for modulation, reverb, delay and more.
  • Use the Footswitch to move through settings – Set your virtual signal chain and use the very intuitive footswitch system to cycle through your effects with ease! You can also set your favourite patches, and quickly flick between entire virtual rigs with ease.
  • Built like a tank – The TRIDENT uses one-piece die-cast aluminum case, it’s solid, strong and built for live performance.

NUX

NUX made its industry debut in 2006 and is one of the brands owned by Cherub Technology. Its official catalogue ranges from analogue and digital stompboxes to multi-effects, amplifiers, wireless systems, drums, keyboards and recording gear. Cherub lists company locations in Guangdong, China, as well as overseas offices; that identifies the company base, not the factory for every NUX product. JustPedals listings include the NBP-5 Melvin Lee Davis bass preamp, NAI-5 Optima Air acoustic simulator and NDR-5 Atlantic delay and reverb. The range rewards model-by-model comparisons of signal path, presets and instrument-specific features.

Category

Multi-Effects Pedals

A multi-effects processor combines several effect algorithms and signal-routing stages in one unit. Its sound depends not only on the individual models but on their order, parallel or serial routing, processing resolution and available control. Preset structure, switching gaps, foot control, expression assignment, amp or cabinet modelling, USB audio and MIDI determine how completely the processor can replace separate pedals.

Tags

Amp Simulator

Recreates the gain structure, tone controls, compression and frequency response of a guitar or bass amplifier. The simulation may model only a preamp or extend through power-amp behaviour, allowing the result to range from clean amplification to dynamically responsive breakup.

Presets

Stores complete groups of parameter values for later recall. The number of locations, switching time, spillover behaviour and whether presets include routing, expression and MIDI assignments determine how completely one sound can change into another.

Stereo

Processes, creates or passes two audio channels. True stereo preserves separate left and right inputs, while mono-to-stereo effects generate spatial differences internally; routing, phase behaviour and whether trails remain stereo determine the resulting image. Some outputs sum to mono when only one socket is connected, which can change level or modulation depth.
