The classic BOSS CE-1 Chorus Ensemble and the RE-201 Space Echo are legendary for their inspiring delayed effects, however they are also loved for their variable analogue preamp circuitry. The preamp instantly integrates guitar tones full of character & richness.

The Boss BP-1W is a natural sounding & iconic preamp, all in one pedal. The pedal has three diverse sound characters contained. The level knob controls the overall volume, or how much you push the amp or drive pedal you are using.

The Gain knob adds saturation & compression. The selectable input buffer gives you two choices – the first one is called the STD and is used for more of a wide range tone, while the VTG gives you a sweet vintage tone.

With the BP-1W, you can now access these two classic preamp tones in a premium Waza Craft pedal, along with a natural, clear voice that functions as a standard clean boost.

Modes

  • NATURAL – This mode is used when you need a perfectly clean booster, without any colouration.

Booster — A booster is an effects pedal used by guitarists to increase the overall level or volume of their signal, often to enhance certain aspects of their tone or to push an amplifier into overdrive. By amplifying the guitar’s signal, a booster can make solos stand out more prominently in a mix, or drive an amp harder for a more aggressive sound. Boosters come in various forms, including clean boosters, which simply raise the volume without altering the tone, and overdrive or distortion boosters, which add some level of grit and warmth. Some booster pedals also feature tone controls to adjust the EQ, allowing players to shape the frequency response and fine-tune their sound. They are a versatile tool for achieving greater dynamic range and tonal flexibility in both live performances and studio recordings.. Preamp — A preamp pedal shapes and boosts your guitar’s signal before it reaches your amp or recording interface, giving you control over tone, gain, and headroom. It acts as the first stage of amplification, adding warmth, clarity, and character while preparing your signal for the next part of the chain. Some preamps emulate the response of classic valve circuits, while others offer clean, transparent tone shaping ideal for acoustic instruments or direct recording setups. Used on its own, a preamp pedal can serve as the foundation of your tone, providing a consistent core sound wherever you play. When combined with other effects, it enhances dynamics and helps each pedal sound more defined and natural. Whether you’re looking to push your amp harder, bring life to a dull signal, or refine your sound for the studio, a good preamp pedal adds presence, punch, and musicality to any rig..
