One Control label their Little Copper "the most compact and versatile chorus pedal you'll ever own!" It's not like most chorus stompboxes though; designed using a sine wave oscillator to recreate rotary speaker-like sounds — akin to a Fender Vibratone. With pocket-sized proportions too, the Little Copper chorus will easily fit on even the tiniest vacant space on your pedalboard!

One Control 'BJF Series' Pedals

One Control are well-known for their pedal switchers and pedalboard management devices, but they also make their own effects — the BJF Series! These mini pedals are designed by Björn Juhl, a legend within the stompbox sphere who's highly regarded for his work with Mad Professor, Barefoot FX and his own company, BJFE. These stompboxes not only sound great, but save precious pedalboard real-estate too!

Björn Juhl on the Little Copper Chorus:

"The Little Copper Chorus was designed differently to your typical chorus. I wanted to give the chorus sound a modern feel instead of resurrecting an effect that has otherwise been overused for decades."

"Back in the 1980s, you had to have a chorus or else you'd be sacked from the band! In the '80s, I listened to SRV and Lonnie Mack on my way to rehearsal and secretly practiced using chorus ahead of distortion in my pedal chain to recreate an organ sound. Typical choruses run triangular wave oscillators while the Little Copper utilises a sine wave oscillator. Coincidentally, sine waves are produced by electrical motors such as those in a Denver Vibratone cabinet."

Brand

One Control

One Control is a brand that focuses on creating compact, high-quality guitar pedals, often in mini-sized formats. Their product lineup includes a range of effects such as overdrives, distortions, and amp-in-a-box designs. One Control pedals are particularly known for their versatility, providing different tones and textures within a small footprint. Pedals like the Strawberry Red Overdrive and the Lingonberry Overdrive are highly regarded for their ability to cover a wide range of gain levels, from bluesy overdrive to medium-gain distortion.

In addition to individual effect pedals, One Control also produces loop switchers and multi-purpose devices, such as the Minimal Series TRI LOOP, which enhances the flexibility of guitar setups. These tools are designed for musicians who need to manage complex pedalboards or integrate effects seamlessly into their performances.

Distortion

Distortion pedals take your clean guitar signal and transform it into something bigger, bolder, and full of attitude. By clipping the waveform, they add sustain, bite, and aggression, creating that thick, compressed tone that’s powered rock music for decades. From the growling crunch of classic hard rock to the tight, saturated roar of modern metal, distortion is all about energy and presence. It gives every note weight and authority, pushing your amp to its limits and beyond.

There are countless flavours of distortion, each with its own texture and edge. Some sound smooth and creamy, others raw and gnarly like tearing fabric. It’s the sonic equivalent of turning up the heat until the sound cooks — rich, sizzling, and perfectly seasoned to taste. Whether used for rhythm muscle or soaring leads, a good distortion pedal doesn’t just add volume; it adds personality, grit, and that unmistakable sense of power under your fingers.

Rotary

Rotary pedals recreate the swirling, moving sound of a rotating speaker cabinet, adding rich modulation and a sense of motion to guitar tones. They typically simulate the changing pitch and volume caused by spinning speakers, producing anything from subtle shimmer to deep, pulsating swirl. Rotary effects are often used for clean and lightly driven sounds to add depth, movement, and a classic, organ-inspired character.
