Power Your Dream Rig

Pushing the boundaries of guitar tone has never been more accessible. The Quad Cortex’s powerhouse of a processor is capable of running numerous amp models, cabinets and stereo effects interchangeably at the tap of a button.

Emulate real amp characteristics: the unique onboard biomimetic AI technology replicates any physical amplifier, overdrive, and cabinet with unprecedented likeness. Whatever you hear from a real amp, you’ll hear from the Quad Cortex! Neural DSP will also continue to collaborate with leading sound designers to add more patches to the already impressive Sound Library.

Extensive Sound Library

Neural DSP boasts an ever-growing library of over 1000 guitar amp and effect algorithms. Curate your perfect tone with all Neural DSP have to offer in the Quad Cortex. The Sound Library is the go-to software for the next generation of guitar virtuosos, such as Rabea Massaad, Tosin Abasi, Plini and industry engineers like Adam “Nolly” Getgood. Like them, this is the easiest way to get your fingers on great guitar tone, and with the addition of update CorOS 3.0.0, you can use any Neural “X” plugin directly on the Quad Cortex!

Teach your Quad Cortex new sounds. Want to take your favourite amp tone everywhere without lugging around the amp itself? Plug in a microphone and use Neural Capture to record it — you’ll struggle to tell the difference between the original amp and the Quad Cortex. Built-in phantom power means you can capture your sound in optimal quality using a condenser mic too. The added bonus of the Quad Cortex’s mic preamp means you can easily record a variety of instruments and spice them up with effects!

Intuitive User Interface

Not only does the Quad Cortex house one of the most extensive sound collections on the planet, but it’s also one of most effortless to use. Tinker to your heart’s content using the powerful parametric EQ on the 7″ multi-touch display. Position virtual microphones exactly where you want on over 1000 impulse responses, with third-party IRs easy to load up as well. Drop in signal path blocks within seconds to voice your effects in unique ways, and use the rotary stomp switches to scroll through amp settings and assign 32 banks of eight presets each for instant tonal access — just like an analogue switcher.

Compact Size & All-Encompassing Connectivity

Weighing in at just under 2kg and more compact than an Apple MacBook Pro, the Neural DSP Quad Cortex is ideal for touring musicians, guitarists cutting down on gear clutter, or those with restricted space and volume levels.

Slot the Quad Cortex into any setup, either stereo or mono. It’s equipped with TS, TRS and XLR ins and outs to handle everything you throw at it. Two available effects loops let you incorporate your favourite pedals into the signal chain, while MIDI connections automate switching and control every parameter within the Quad Cortex. There’s even a headphone output for silent playing.

Customer Reviews

Quad Cortex is amazing. It gives me so many different options for sounds & I can easily take it anywhere.

The Quad Cortex has enabled me to reduce my amps and large pedalboard down to one small box that fits in my gig bag whilst not changing the sounds I use live at all.

“Head & shoulders above other modellers when it comes to both tone & user interface.”

EQ — While Ed Sheeran primarily relies on the natural sound of his acoustic guitar and vocals, he occasionally uses EQ (Equalization) to shape and enhance his tone during live performances or in the studio. EQ pedals or onboard preamps can allow him to adjust the frequency response of his guitar signal to suit the acoustics of different venues or to achieve specific tonal characteristics. Here’s how EQ might be utilized in Ed Sheeran’s setup:1. **Tonal Shaping**: EQ can be used to adjust the balance of frequencies in the guitar signal, allowing Ed Sheeran to shape his tone to his liking. For example, he might boost the midrange frequencies to bring out the warmth and presence of his acoustic guitar, or cut certain frequencies to reduce any harshness or mud in the sound.2. **Feedback Control**: In a live setting, EQ can help control feedback by notching out problematic frequencies that might cause the guitar signal to feed back through the amplification system. This can be particularly useful when performing in venues with challenging acoustics or high volume levels.3. **Room Correction**: In situations where the venue’s acoustics are less than ideal, EQ can be used to compensate for any deficiencies in the sound. By adjusting the EQ settings, Ed Sheeran can tailor the guitar tone to sound more balanced and natural, regardless of the room’s acoustic properties.4. **Matching Gear**: EQ can also be used to match the tone of Ed Sheeran’s guitar to the sound of other instruments or equipment in his setup. For example, he might adjust the EQ to complement the tonal characteristics of his vocal microphone or to blend seamlessly with backing tracks or other instruments.Overall, while EQ may not be a central component of Ed Sheeran’s guitar effects setup, it can still play a valuable role in shaping his tone and ensuring that he achieves the desired sound in different performance environments. Whether used subtly for tonal shaping or more aggressively for feedback control, EQ allows Ed Sheeran to tailor his guitar tone to suit his musical vision and performance needs.. Expression — Expression pedals allow real-time control over specific parameters on compatible guitar pedals, such as volume, delay time, modulation depth, or filter sweep. Used with an expression input, they let players shape effects dynamically with their foot, adding movement and performance control that cannot be achieved with fixed knob settings.. Guitar Pedals — Your pedal is like a signature dish for your sound — a flavour-packed creation that transforms the bland ingredients of your guitar into something unforgettable. Each one adds its own seasoning, texture, and heat, turning a simple meal into a feast of tone. These tasty little boxes sit in a row, like plates on a buffet, letting you mix and match flavours as you play. With one tap of your foot, you can swap sweet for spicy, subtle for smoky, and serve up something completely new. From the comfort food of warm overdrive to the fiery kick of fuzz, from smooth jazz sauce to heavy-metal spice, pedals give players a full menu of options to express their taste.  And just like with food, once you’ve tried one dish, you’ll want to sample them all.Collecting, trading, and discovering new flavours soon becomes part of the joy of being a tone-loving gourmet geek with a guitar.. Looper — A looper pedal records and plays back sections of your playing, allowing you to layer sounds and build full arrangements on your own. By capturing short or long phrases, you can create rhythm parts, harmonies, or entire backing tracks in real time. Most loopers offer basic controls for record, overdub, and playback, while advanced models include multiple tracks, tempo syncing, and memory storage for saving your loops.Loopers are invaluable for practice, songwriting, and live performance. They help you explore ideas, refine timing, and experiment with textures — from solo acoustic performances to complex ambient soundscapes. A good looper pedal becomes an instrument in itself, letting you improvise, arrange, and perform with creativity and freedom, turning one guitar into an entire band.. MIDI — MIDI pedals use the Musical Instrument Digital Interface standard to communicate with other guitar pedals, effects units, and hardware. They allow control over presets, parameters, and switching across multiple devices from a single controller. MIDI integration makes it possible to build complex, synchronised pedal setups while keeping control simple and consistent.. New — This is brand new, fresh in, and a UK warranty is included. New Gear always comes from trusted UK music retailers.. Overdrive — Like a golden layer of melted cheese — warm, gooey, and just put it all over. It adds just the right amount of richness and grit, turning a clean signal into something smooth and savoury. Designed to mimic the natural breakup of a tube amp pushed to its sweet spot, overdrive delivers the flavour of classic rock and blues in every bite. From creamy mid-gain warmth to crisp edge-of-breakup sparkle, it’s the comfort food of guitar tone — simple, satisfying, and endlessly versatile. Whether it’s a mild crunch or a full-bodied roar, overdrive is where good taste begins.. Pitch — Pitch pedals alter the frequency of your guitar signal, changing the perceived note or adding harmony. They can shift notes up or down by fixed intervals, create harmonies, or produce dive-bomb and whammy-style effects without a tremolo arm. Pitch shifters and harmonisers are great for thickening solos, simulating multiple guitars, or experimenting with creative, otherworldly sounds that expand your tonal range.. Rotary — Rotary pedals recreate the swirling, moving sound of a rotating speaker cabinet, adding rich modulation and a sense of motion to guitar tones. They typically simulate the changing pitch and volume caused by spinning speakers, producing anything from subtle shimmer to deep, pulsating swirl. Rotary effects are often used for clean and lightly driven sounds to add depth, movement, and a classic, organ-inspired character.. Switcher — Switcher refers to a guitar pedal or pedalboard unit that allows multiple pedals or signal paths to be controlled from a single device. A switcher can turn several pedals on or off at once, change signal order, or recall preset combinations, helping players manage complex pedal setups cleanly and reliably, especially in live situations.. used. Volume — Volume pedals control the output level of a guitar signal using a foot-operated treadle. They allow smooth volume swells, dynamic control during playing, and easy muting between songs. Volume pedals can be placed at different points in the signal chain to either control overall loudness or adjust gain and drive behaviour when positioned before distortion or overdrive pedals..
