Create amazing pitch harmonies The EarthQuaker Devices Rainbow Machine V2 takes modern DSP and uses it as a tool of future past to create real time pitch shifting using digital oscillators. It produces basic polyphonic harmonies from a 4th down through to a 3rd up and every tonal pitch you could dream of in-between. You can also add in an accompanying octave of the harmony by dialing up the Secondary function. What’s more you can take the harmonies further than ever before opening up a realm of new sonic possibilities by bringing in the Magic control. In tandem with the Tracking control the magic creates wild pitch take offs and descents chaotic choruses shrieks pixie trials and plenty of other madness and mayhem. Or if you prefer this pedal can be used to simply and subtly complement the sound of your setup. Controls Pitch: Controls the pitch of the harmony. Fully anti-clockwise is a 4th down all the way clockwise is a 3rd up. Middle position is unison. Pitch can be controlled by an external expression pedal. Exp Jack: Expression pedal control jack for the pitch. Pitch control dial becomes void when an expression pedal is used. Primary: Controls the volume of the Primary pitch-shifted signal. Unity gain is at about 2 o’clock anything above will boost the signal. Secondary: Controls the volume of the secondary pitch-shifted signal. The Secondary controls the octave up/down from the primary pitch. At noon position the Secondary is not present at all. However turning the dial anti-clockwise from noon provides an octave below whereas turning clockwise gives an octave above and everything in between. Unity gain is at about 2 o’clock anything above will boost the signal. Tracking: Controls the amount of lag time between direct dry signal and the shifted wet signal. The pitch-shifted signal will track right on the dry signal when this control is all the way clockwise. It will start to lag behind as its reduced. This function is especially useful when Magic is engaged. Magic: The heart of the Rainbow Machine. Adjusts the weirdness of the effect. The end result is a wide variety of wild effects depending on how the other controls are set. The magic control will only work if the magic switch is activated and the primary and/or secondary are in use. Technically it’s a regeneration control that creates aliasing between a mix of the primary and secondary functions feeding back against each other. Tone: All the way clockwise is full signal anti-clockwise softens the highs. Flexi-switch & High-quality construction The EarthQuaker Devices Rainbow Machine V2 features a flexi-switch which allows for either traditional latching or momentary operation. This is ideal for stuttering effects or for creating brief moments of pitch shifted tone. This pitch harmoniser is hand-made in Ohio and features an all-analogue dry-through signal path. It features premium components and is housed in a rugged metal chassis designed to survive a long life on your pedalboard. Its top-mounted jack sockets provide easy integration into your setup allowing you to pack your pedals side-by-side to maximise your pedalboard space – so you can take your sound further. Guitar Effect Pedal
A guitar pedal, also known as an effects pedal, is a device used by guitarists to alter the sound of their instrument in various ways. These pedals are typically small, foot-operated units that are connected in a signal chain between the guitar and the amplifier. They can modify the guitar’s tone, pitch, and dynamics by applying different effects such as distortion, reverb, delay, chorus, and more. Guitar pedals come in both analog and digital formats, and they allow musicians to create a wide range of sounds, enhancing their musical expression and creativity. They are essential tools for guitarists in genres ranging from rock and blues to jazz and electronic music.

Pitch
Pitch effects alter the pitch of a guitar’s signal, allowing guitarists to create unique sounds and textures. There are several types of pitch effects, each with its own characteristics and applications:
1. **Pitch Shifter**: Pitch shifters allow guitarists to shift the pitch of their notes up or down by a set interval, such as an octave or a specific number of semitones. This effect can be used to create harmonies, emulate multiple instruments playing together, or thicken the sound of a single guitar.
2. **Octave**: Octave pedals generate tones one or two octaves above or below the original signal. They can be used to create thick, bass-like sounds, emulate 12-string guitars, or add a unique texture to guitar solos.
3. **Whammy**: Whammy pedals, inspired by the Whammy Bar found on many electric guitars, allow players to bend the pitch of their notes up or down in real-time. They can create dramatic pitch bends, dive bombs, or emulate the sound of a pedal steel guitar.
4. **Harmonizer**: Harmonizer pedals analyze the incoming signal and generate harmonized notes based on a selected key and interval. They can be used to create rich, layered harmonies, emulate vocal harmonies, or add depth to guitar solos.
5. **Detune**: Detune effects slightly shift the pitch of the guitar’s signal up and down, creating a chorus-like effect. This can add thickness and depth to the sound, similar to a chorus pedal, but with a more subtle and natural-sounding modulation.
6. **Auto-Tune**: Auto-tune pedals automatically correct the pitch of the guitar’s signal to the nearest note in a selected key or scale. They can be used to ensure accurate tuning during performances or to create robotic, vocoder-like effects.
Pitch effects offer guitarists a wide range of creative possibilities, from subtle enhancements to radical transformations of their tone. Whether used to add depth and richness to chords, create otherworldly textures, or emulate the sound of multiple instruments, pitch effects can inspire new ideas and expand the sonic palette of the guitar.
Not for purists and/or tone hounds, there are no "natural sounds" that will come from this box Imagined to be wild and out of control and slightly imperfect while still tracking up and down the guitar neck without glitching out In conjunction with the Tracking control, the Magic creates wild pitch take offs and descents, chaos chorusing, shrieks, pixie trails and wealth of other general mayhem inducing noises The Rainbow Machine can be used on bass, keys, vocals or anything else you can dream up New Flexi-Switch silent relay based switching allows for traditional latching or momentary operation Made with care by human hands in Akron, Ohio
Gives your signal extra grit and boost without drastically altering your tone and retains all of the natural nuances and character of your amplifier. Two distinct clipping modes that are both exceptionally responsive to playing dynamics: Germanium and Silicon Germanium mode delivers a softer, more rounded response with tamed highs and lower output. Silicon mode delivers a brighter, more modern response with higher output.
Controls Mix: The Mix control is a wet/dry blend that adjusts the overall level of the affected signal. Time: Sets the delay time from 0ms to 1500ms (1.5 seconds). Reverb: Controls the amount of reverb. Counterclockwise is less reverb, clockwise is more reverb. Repeats: controls the regeneration of the delay signal. When the Repeats control is set to maximum, you’ll get infinite repeats without runaway self-oscillation, which makes it great for creating drones, dialing in the ultimate post-rock guitar sound without feedback, or just having fun.
