KMA Audio Machines combine premium German engineering with a genuine love for tone. With every pedal handmade in Berlin, KMA use only the best components available to ensure that their pedals deliver cutting-edge tones with plenty of flexibility.

Whilst taking inspiration from classic, vintage units, KMA design all of their own circuits to modern and forward-thinking standards. This means that players can enjoy pedals that offer incredible functionality and versatility.

Plenty of Octaves:

The Moai Maea from KMA Machines is a pure analogue octaver, giving you a flavour of that old-school octaver sound but with more power and improved functionality. Think of those classic old 70s units – but on steroids!

Letting you add an octave up, the Moai Maea also delivers a whopping two sub-octaves to give you a truly thunderous low-end. The higher octave has a fuzzy character to it with plenty of cut, perfect for Hendrix-style sounds that will let your solos carve through any mix.

Pure Thunder!

The sub-octaves can transform your guitar into a filthy-sounding bass that will shake the floor of any venue. A versatile mode switch will let you to choose if you want just the first or second sub-octaves, or you can have both engaged so that you can achieve an engulfing wall of sound.

And with the upper and sub-octaves having their own dedicated footswitch, you can easily change up your sound on the fly – think Royal Blood!

KMA Audio Machines have also added a serial buffered FX-Loop at the clean path, featuring a phase inverter to ensure no phase cancellation when mixing your signal. Now that’s German efficiency.

Here’s what KMA Machines say about the Moai Maea Analog Octaver Pedal:

For thousand of years they tower over the green meadows along the coast and the hillside of Rapa Nui. Moai Maea, silent and solemn – venerated and mystified by a long forgotten ancient culture. It will let you feel the droning and shrieking of the mighty erupting Rano Raraku where the Moai Maea was born.

Moai Maea is KMA Audio Machines’ answer to long forgotten analog octaver sounds to generate a huge wall of sound by playing just one note. It generates one higher octave and up to two sub-octaves. The higher octave has an edgy and fuzzy character which is reminis- cent of old seventy octave up sounds like Hendrix or The Stooges. The sub-octaves turn your guitar into a filthy bass guitar with groundshaking lows. We added a sub-octave mode switch for more versatility. Choose between either the first (-I), the second (-II) or both together (-I/-II), which gives you the sought-after wall of sound.

The Moai gives you the possibility to create an individual mix of each generated octave and the original signal. To expand your soundscapes we added a serial bufferd FX-Loop at the clean path with a phase inverter to avoid phase cancelation when it

Analog

“Analog” refers to a method of processing electrical signals that relies on continuous variations of voltage or current. In the context of guitar effects pedals, analogue refers to circuits that manipulate the guitar signal using analogue components such as transistors, capacitors, and resistors, without converting the signal into digital data.

Analogue effects pedals are prized for their warmth, organic sound, and responsiveness to player dynamics. They often produce subtle harmonic distortions and imperfections that contribute to their unique character and musicality. Additionally, analogue circuits typically impart a more natural and transparent tone to the guitar signal compared to digital effects.

Common types of analogue effects pedals include overdrive, distortion, fuzz, modulation (such as chorus, phaser, and tremolo), delay, and reverb pedals. Each type of pedal utilizes analogue circuitry to achieve its particular sound and effect.

Despite the rise of digital technology in recent years, analogue effects pedals remain popular among guitarists, collectors, and enthusiasts for their classic sound, vintage appeal, and tactile user experience. Many players appreciate the sonic warmth and character of analogue pedals, as well as the simplicity and reliability of their circuitry.

In summary, analogue effects pedals process the guitar signal using continuous electrical variations, resulting in a warm, organic, and responsive tone prized by many guitarists.

Pedal

A pedal is an electronic device that alters the sound of an electric guitar by applying various effects. Pedals are typically connected in a series between the guitar and amplifier, allowing guitarists to switch effects on and off with their feet while playing.

This enables musicians to quickly and easily change their sound, adding versatility and creativity to their performances.

Pedals are essential tools in many musical genres, including rock, blues, jazz, and metal, allowing artists to craft distinctive and dynamic soundscapes.

Once you buy one, you can’t stop and then you have to sell them and buy more.
