Description

The Fortin Zuul + Noise Gate Pedal is currently retailing at £249 and it is preorder. Available to be delivered to you by post direct (some charge may apply). The team at Just Pedals think that Fortin Amplification nailed it with the Fortin Zuul + Noise Gate Pedal.

A noise gate pedal may not be the most exciting addition to your pedalboard, but if you've ever played with a lot of gain, you'll be all too aware of how annoying the background noise can be! Noise gates eliminate the unwanted noise generated from your amp or high gain pedals, leaving plenty of space for your heavy, palm muted riffs to shine through.

The folks at Fortin Amplification are no strangers to high gain, so its no surprise then that they know all about noise gates! Building on the success of the original Zuul, the Zuul + Noise Gate incorporates everything from it's predecessor with a host of all new features. Built in the USA, the Zuul + has quickly become the benchmark to which all other noise gates are measured.

Here's what Fortin say about the Zuul + Noise Gate

In addition to the KEY IN, ZUUL+ now has a KEY THRU jack with ground lift switch, eliminating the need to split the signal for the KEY using an external device and to tackle ground loops. In addition to the GATE Threshold control, ZUUL+ now also includes HOLD and RELEASE controls, allowing you to further tailor the your perfect gating action. Use in front of an amplifier or in a series effects loop in 2CM, 3CM or 4CM applications. Dual colour LED for visual feedback gating action: Green = Open, Red = Closed, Off = Bypass. The KEY IN is a buffered input that accepts signal from your guitar or other signal source which lets you go from clean to high gain without changing the GATE Threshold knob. This powerful feature lets you control the gate with a different signal than what flows through the IN/OUT top jacks of the ZUUL+. Finished off in a black gloss metal flake powder coated enclosure with raised white cream gloss screening.

Noise

Noise in guitar effects refers to unwanted sounds or interference that can disrupt the clean signal. This can come from various sources, such as electrical interference, grounding issues, or even the pedals themselves. Common types of noise include hum, often from power sources or fluorescent lights, hiss, which can arise from high-gain settings or amplifiers, and feedback, which happens when the sound loops uncontrollably between the guitar, amp, and effects.

Many guitarists use noise gates or power conditioners to reduce unwanted noise, while some pedals are designed specifically to manage or eliminate hum or hiss. Properly isolating your power sources and maintaining good cable management can also help reduce noise in your signal chain.

Pedal

A pedal is an electronic device that alters the sound of an electric guitar by applying various effects. Pedals are typically connected in a series between the guitar and amplifier, allowing guitarists to switch effects on and off with their feet while playing.

This enables musicians to quickly and easily change their sound, adding versatility and creativity to their performances.

Pedals are essential tools in many musical genres, including rock, blues, jazz, and metal, allowing artists to craft distinctive and dynamic soundscapes.

Once you buy one, you can’t stop and then you have to sell them and buy more.
