The EarthQuaker Devices Organizer V2 is about to be your new favourite pedal as this dual octave organ emulator can completely transform your guitar in to a new instrument or to a point in-between.

The Organizer V2 has been updated to include soft-touch switching for silent and effortless on-stage operation. With a more durable switch than before, the V2 model will take some serious abuse on stage. Plus the top-mounted I/O means this pedal won’t take up too much space on your pedal board either.

The Organizer V2 now features improved circuits for better performance and a much lower noise-floor. So your Organ Emulator will be hum free and thanks to true bypass won’t colour your sound when you switch it off.

Two Octaves

An organ gets its sound through playing multiple octaves of the same note at once with certain harmonic notes in-between. So the first two controls on this pedal are the octave up and octave down controls which set the volume of the two octaves available above and below the guitar signal. You can then enhance these to make it much thicker sounding by using the choir control to bring in extra regenerated octaves with a slight delay.

Bring In Your Guitars Signal
While the pedal does sound amazing just producing the organ sound you can also use the direct knob to bring in your guitars dry signal. This adds a beautiful extra layer to the guitar and sounds like you have both an organ player and guitarist playing the same things at once for a mix filling tone.

Here’s what EarthQuaker say about the Organizer V2

The Vital Organ
The Organizer V2 is a polyphonic organ emulator designed to mimic the organ tones of yesteryear crossed with the highly unique “Guitorgan”. It has a warm and very analog feel with a hint of Leslie warble that is unlike other modern octave shifters.

  • Polyphonic organ emulator – tracks chords and single notes flawlessly
  • “Choir” control acts as octave regeneration control for two octaves up/down
  • Improved circuitry for better performance and lower noise
  • True bypass – Silent soft-touch switching
  • Analog dry-through
  • Top-mounted jacks – for effortless pedalboard implementation

Wether you’re going for a full-on Ray Manzarek psychedelic solo vibe, simple supporting bass notes or a crystalline ambient shimmer, the Organizer and its intuitive control set is sure to deliver every time. Use the Lag control to introduce more space between your dry signal and the effected signal for cool polyrhythmic octave effects, or use the unique Choir control to introduce either a shimmering two octaves up signal, a bone-shaking two octaves down signal or both at the same time for out of this world organ tones.

The Organizer V2 tracks chords as well as single notes perfectly all over the neck on both guitar and b

Octave

An octave pedal is a type of guitar effects pedal that generates tones one or two octaves above or below the original signal. This effect can create a wide range of sonic textures, from thickening the sound to adding harmonies and creating synthetic basslines. Here’s how octave pedals work and some common features:

1. **Octave Up/Down**: Octave pedals typically offer the option to generate tones one octave above (octave up) or below (octave down) the original signal. Some advanced pedals may even offer both octave up and down simultaneously for more versatility.

2. **Blend Control**: Many octave pedals include a blend control, allowing you to adjust the mix between the original signal and the octave-generated signal. This feature enables you to dial in the perfect balance between the two for your desired effect.

3. **Tracking**: Tracking refers to how accurately the pedal follows the input signal and generates the octave. Higher-quality octave pedals have better tracking, meaning they accurately reproduce the pitch of the original note without latency or glitching.

4. **Polyphonic vs. Monophonic**: Some octave pedals are polyphonic, meaning they can accurately track multiple notes and chords played simultaneously. Monophonic pedals, on the other hand, work best with single notes and may struggle with chords.

5. **Sub-Octave**: In addition to octave up and down, some octave pedals offer a sub-octave effect, generating tones two octaves below the original signal. This can create deep, bass-like tones and add richness to your sound.

6. **Effects Loop**: Some octave pedals include an effects loop, allowing you to place other effects before or after the octave effect in the signal chain. This can open up creative possibilities for combining octave effects with other modulation or time-based effects.

7. **Expression Pedal Compatibility**: Certain octave pedals are compatible with expression pedals, which allow you to control parameters such as octave blend, pitch bend, or even the interval of the generated octave in real-time using your foot.

Octave pedals are widely used in various music genres, including rock, funk, jazz, and experimental music. Guitarists use them to create unique sounds, emulate basslines, and add depth and dimension to their playing. Whether you’re looking to thicken your tone, create harmonies, or explore new sonic territories, an octave pedal can be a valuable addition to your pedalboard.
