Description

The Truetone Voltage Doubler 24V or 18V is currently retailing at £24.99 and it is in stock. Available to be delivered to you by post direct (some charge may apply). The team at Just Pedals think that Truetone nailed it with the Truetone Voltage Doubler 24V or 18V.

Here's what Truetone say about the Voltage Doubler:

The 1 SPOT Voltage Doubler (TVD) is an intelligent cable which is mainly for converting 9Vdc to 18Vdc, but it can also convert 12Vdc to 24Vdc automatically, without a switch! Able to handle up to 100mA of current, it can help you power just about any 18V or 24V pedal*.

All you do is take the output of your 9Vdc or 12Vdc power supply and connect it to the Voltage Doubler and plug the TVD into your pedal. Simple. Noiseless. Inexpensive.

*The only 18V pedal we know of that the Voltage Doubler can’t power is the Pigtronix Infinity Looper, which requires it’s own power supply.

About Truetone

We have new and used Truetone gear available on our website for fast direct delivery direct to you from across sellers in all areas of the USA & UK.

Truetone is a well-known brand that produces high-quality guitar pedals, pedalboards, and power supplies. Originally established as Visual Sound in 1995, Truetone is most famous for its reliable and robust power supply units, such as the Truetone 1 Spot, which provide consistent power to multiple pedals without introducing noise or interference. Over the years, the company expanded its range to include pedals with a focus on excellent tonal quality, durability, and ease of use. Popular products like the Truetone Series 1 pedals (including overdrive and delay models) are appreciated for their versatility, musicality, and transparent sound. Truetone is recognised by musicians for creating gear that is practical, reliable, and designed to enhance a player?s sonic experience both on stage and in the studio.

18V

18V refers to a type of power supply used by certain guitar pedals to provide higher voltage than the more common 9V pedals. Using 18V power can result in greater headroom, improved dynamics, and more detailed tonal response compared to a 9V power supply. Many high-performance pedals, such as certain overdrive, distortion, and delay units, are designed to operate at 18V to deliver enhanced sound quality, allowing for greater clarity and less distortion at higher volumes.

Pedals that run on 18V, like the MXR Phase 90 (with an 18V option) or the TC Electronic Flashback Delay, often produce a fuller, more robust sound, with increased sustain and more natural tonal characteristics. Musicians may choose 18V-powered pedals for their ability to offer a more open sound, particularly in high-gain settings, where 9V pedals might start to compress or become muddier.
