The Ditto looper is one of the pedals that launched a whole new kind of performance. Now with the Ditto X4 TC Electronic are giving you more control than before with two independent loops that can either be used for different sections or stacked on top of each other. Each side works as its own separate Ditto looper so you can delete, pause and play each loop individually.

Key Features

  • Simple and intuitive dual-track guitar looper with powerful loop effects lets you create multilayered sonic masterpieces
  • Designed specifically for guitarists, by guitarists, to ensure you get the utmost simplicity with maximum creative potential
  • Two 5-minute independent loop tracks with serial and sync modes let you build evolving multitrack compositions or fully fledged songs
  • 7 versatile loop effects give you awe-inspiring powers to fuel your creativity
  • Adjustable loop decay knob for making overdubs gradually fade away or stay bold and in your face
  • MIDI sync locks looper to external MIDI tempo for perfectly timed live loops
  • Export loops to PC or Mac to work with in your DAW, and import complex backing tracks into the looper to impress on stage
  • Straightforward interface has a dedicated stop footswitch, making it easy to stop loops exactly when you want
  • Stereo inputs and outputs for major setup flexibility – you can even plug in 2 instruments
  • True bypass allows for optimum clarity and zero high-end loss when the pedal is off
  • Optional buffered bypass mode prevents high frequency loss from long cable runs
  • Analog-Dry-Through maintains total integrity of analog dry signal path even when looper is engaged

Two Loops Are Better Than One

With one looper you are kind of limited if you want to go back and remove previous layers without getting rid of later layers. With the X4 you can layer in two different areas having loop 1 for your percussion and bass while the second loop can be used for your chords and lead lines. You can also take advantage of the decay control to remove older layers as you need new ones.

Timing Effects

One of the things they introduced with some of the larger Ditto loopers is the FX module. This gave you several options to customise your sound live one the fly thanks to the momentary switch. Now this single footswitch can control loads of new effects ike Hold and Tape stop aas well as classics like double time, half time, fade and reverse.

Still Simple, Still Mind-Blowing

Even though Ditto X4 Looper basically offers endless creative possibilities, it still honors the core principle of our famed Ditto Looper. Simplicity! No drum-machines, no deep-editing menus or other time consuming tech-nonsense, only immediate unfiltered fun. So all you have to think about is – What will you create today-

Loop De Loop

If you thought that having one loop track was fun, then wait until you try running two interweaving and perfectly synced tracks at once. It will blow you away! Run a 4 bar percussive beat in loop 1 and a 16 bar chord progression with endless layers of ambient textures underneath in loop 2, or simply have your verse and chorus set up in each track and seamlessly switch between them for an unforgettable on-stage performance. You’re the aural architect, and with Ditto X4 Looper you’ll finally have the tool to realize the sonic wonders inside your head.

FX On The Fly

Imagine this: You got a cool dual loop going, and you can see the crowd is loving it. Out of the blue you engage the Hold FX for a cool rhythmic stutter. The crowd is baffled. Then you reverse your loop and throw them into an otherworldly trance. Finally you hit that Tape Stop FX for a unique jaw-dropping finish to your piece. You look up. The crowd is dumbstruck and smoke is rising from their heads, ’cause you literally just blew their minds! This scenario (which may or may not have happened) just scratches the surface of what can be done with the 7 on-board FX. Now throw loop decay and external MIDI control into the mix, and you have a pedal that will continue to inspire you for years to come.

TC Electronic

In the current JustPedals catalogue, TC Electronic is represented by Delay Pedals, Reverb Pedals and Looper Pedals. Current listings include DC30 Preamp, Plethora X1 and V550 Pre-Amp. That makes the range relevant to players looking for drive, gain and clipping, plus time-based effects and ambience. Check each model for its exact circuit or processing platform, controls, power requirements and connections, particularly where the catalogue includes both pedals and supporting gear.

Category

Looper Pedals

Looper pedals record a phrase and play it back as a repeating cycle, allowing new layers to be overdubbed, undone or replaced. Loop time, track count, memory, undo depth, fade or stop behaviour and synchronisation determine how complex a performance can become. Some loopers are simple one-button practice tools, while others add quantisation, rhythm parts, MIDI clock and multiple song sections. Check the input and output routing, footswitch layout and whether saved loops survive a power cycle before building a live workflow around one.

Tags

MIDI

MIDI sends, receives or responds to Musical Instrument Digital Interface messages rather than carrying instrument audio itself. Program changes can recall presets, continuous controllers can move parameters and MIDI clock or transport messages can synchronise timing. Check the connector or USB method, channel and message support, clock direction, latency and whether the device needs a separate MIDI host or adapter. MIDI control is powerful, but compatibility depends on the exact messages each product understands.

Stereo

Stereo products provide separate left and right audio paths, which may widen modulation, preserve independent delays or route a pedalboard into two amplifiers or a mixer. Input and output behaviour is not always symmetrical: some units sum a stereo input, while others create stereo from a mono source. Check whether the effect collapses safely to mono, how the dry signal is routed, the socket format and the destination’s panning and phase requirements.
