Made in collaboration with Toska/Dorje guitarist and TV presenter Rabea Massaad, the Tone City Wild Fro is an aggressive-sounding distortion pedal with dangerous levels of gain on tap! Whilst not a signature pedal, the Wild Fro is based on Tone City’s popular Wild Fire stompbox. The Wild Fro has been slightly modified to meet Massaad’s specific tonal demands.

Please note: Rabea will not be able to sign these pedals before shipping!

Monstrous Distortion

Tone City produces a number of dirt pedals, but the majority of them are designed to offer traditional low-to-medium gain overdrive sounds. The Wild Fro, however, definitely breaks the mould!

Built to deliver sizzling modern distortion, The Tone City Wild Fro remains tight and focused even with its ‘Gain’ control cranked, making it apt for technical and percussive Massaad-style riffs. Want to add even more definition? Simply turn up the ‘Tone’ control and you’ll cut through effortlessly in even the most frantic of metal mixes.

It doesn’t end there though! The Wild Fro also boasts a ‘More’ switch which provides an extra dose of glorious gain. Perfect for laying down lead guitar parts with, this thoughtful addition adds even more flexibility to an already versatile mini stompbox. What more could you possibly want?

Small & Portable

Almost all Tone City pedals are built in mini enclosures, which helps to save precious real-estate on your pedalboard. But don’t worry, you don’t lose any sound quality with micro-sized stompboxes! Tone City uses high-quality components to construct its pedals, and with true bypass switching, your signal will remain as clean and pure as possible when the pedal is disengaged.

Distortion Pedals

Distortion pedals create a heavier, more aggressive gain sound than most overdrive pedals, giving guitarists the sustain, bite and saturation needed for rock, punk, metal and hard-hitting lead tones. They can turn a clean amp into a high-gain platform or add an extra layer of intensity to an already driven sound.

Some distortion pedals are tight and modern, while others are raw, fizzy or vintage-inspired. Choosing the right one depends on whether you want chunky rhythm tones, singing sustain, scooped metal sounds or a classic hard-rock voice with plenty of attack.

Distortion

Distortion pedals and related effects are commonly used by guitarists looking to shape their tone in a more focused and creative way. Different designs offer their own response, feel and tonal character depending on the style of music and the type of amplifier or guitar being used.

Many players build pedalboards gradually over time, combining different effects and utilities to create a setup that suits their own sound and workflow. Distortion related gear can play an important role in both live performance and studio recording.
